What is Recover My Family?
A 12-Week Addiction Recovery Program. Finally families can uncover the truth behind addiction and become empowered to end the cycle that the addiction has them trapped in. Through life-changing lessons delivered by addiction and recovery experts, powerful coaching by leading interventionists and a 24/7 community forum, family members can heal, recover and thrive, thereby offering their loved one the best chance for success. Co-created by Kate Duffy through her work with hundreds of families, it all began with conversations in an emergency department with those who had just experienced a non-fatal overdose. Close to 200 individuals confirmed to Kate what her instincts knew to be true when they said…
“My family doesn’t understand me.”
“Will you please talk to my family.”
“My parents need to stop enabling me.”
“I don’t think I deserve to get well.”
“I can’t do this by myself.”
ALL OF THEM WANTED TO END THEIR ADDICTION!
No one who recovers from addiction does it alone. For far too long we have left the hard climb out of addiction to the one person who is least qualified. We have let the lying, denying, justifying and rationalizing that addiction is win. Those who are caught in the cycle of addiction do not want to be there, despite what you are being told. Families who come to understand the mental obsession that has highjacked the brain, the truth that addiction is not about drugs and alcohol and that the family system is stuck, can find a path to recover. Families have been waiting for their loved ones to “want it” and to wait is to potentially lose the chance to recover.
We are doing this FOR our loved ones so that they CAN do it for themselves.
FAMILIES RECOVER TOGETHER.

About Your Teachers
Kate Duffy is an Interventionist and Family Addiction Expert. She is a catalyst for change who has been inspiring recovery and healing since she got sober herself in 2013.
After facing and overcoming her own battle with substance use, Kate saw and felt the missing pieces at the recovery initiative tipping point. She has since made it her life’s mission to bring families into the recovery conversation. Through hundreds of interventions, Kate created a proven and unprecedented family recovery model where families are empowered to begin the change needed so that their loved one can do the same.
Kate founded Tipping Point Recovery, Inc. and created Recovery Conversations™ the first recovery model that takes a holistic view of the individual. She is now sharing her program nationally so she can help more people and families to recover and heal.
Kate knows that successful, long-lasting recovery must bring together the client, the family and the treatment facility. Because of this unique perspective, she has changed the language of recovery for true healing.
Michael Wilson is a nationally recognized Certified Intervention professional (CIP), and the author of Loving Lions: A Guide for Families Struggling with Addiction.

He has spent years building strong relationships with quality programs and local resources to better serve the community.
Michael’s approach has helped countless families find peace amidst the chaos of addiction by educating them on the ways that they can change and improve the family system around their struggling loved one to promote healthy change and a better chance for success in recovery from addiction.
For a decade, Corey’s substance abuse led him to his worst, making continuous wrong turns. Corey had entered sober living four times before his fifth and final attempt at salvaging his life and relationships. At his lowest point, he was ready for a change, and he has not looked back.
Corey may not be where he is today without the ones who helped push him through early sobriety and those that challenge him today.
He desires to help struggling addicts obtain sobriety and has a passion for helping their loved ones navigate the journey. Addiction is considered a three fold illness and recovery should explore each aspect—mental, spiritual, and physical. Corey’s approach is meant to help heal and prosper well beyond sobriety.

start taking action towards recovery now
This program is a really great blessing to me‼️ Kate Duffy’s love and expertise has molded us into a supportive family. I have learned so much about myself. My love and concern for addictions in my family has not changed. They have not changed, but I have changed💕
Shortly after I found Kate Duffy, I began a journey I had for so long looked for. A journey of Peace and Healing not only for my son but for me and my family. I am happy to say my son is doing well. Within this year, not only has my son had the Blessing of recovery but also my nephew and my niece are also doing the hard work of fighting to recover….I truly think that this is happening because of Kate Duffy’s program, and that through me we are all learning on how to deal with addiction and know it is a disease but that boundaries need to be in place. Sorry for this long comment but this is a testimony to how GREAT this program is.
Kate, you sure are one amazing person that I am so glad came into my life. You’ve taught me to care for myself and my family, how to be strong, how to understand, how to love, how to sympathize, how to communicate, I could go on and on! Thank you for being you!
We are confident that this program works and that it will help you recover from chaos and disconnection to recovery by giving you the education, principles, resources and tools we know you need to shift, recover, heal and thrive. In order to achieve the results we know are possible, we will bring ourselves to you fully and we will hold nothing back from what we’ve learned helping hundreds of others. Your success relies heavily on your participation in the meetings and in the material, as well as your ability to take direction and create change.
We ask you to bring yourself fully, even if you feel fear and confusion, hurt and anger, and let us guide you on to your path. If you reach the end of the program, having fully participated doing the work we ask you to do here, and you are not feeling the shift, we will continue to coach you for as long as it takes (as long as you stay engaged and follow our guidance). No cash refunds.
We built our proven family recovery model to be delivered virtually for one reason…
We are on a mission to teach every family we meet the truth about addiction, how to navigate a broken system and how to reclaim your voice and your power so that you can help your family recover.
Q: I get that family recovery is important, but my immediate concern is helping my loved one. Is there a service you offer for them?
There were two main factors that influenced my starting this program. The first was that when I was drinking, no one told my kids what was really going on, and I saw how deeply it hurt them. It caused pain that we as a family are still working to heal to this day. I didn’t want anyone else’s family to be kept in the dark when I knew the truth would make a difference. So in that way, yes, this course is for you.
But the second and even bigger motivation for me creating Recover My Family was that so many people are dying from drug and alcohol addiction. So many people. More than ever before. And I saw firsthand the ways the current system is set up in this country to treat addiction is failing. This program is about closing the gaps, about changing the recovery model, and about changing the circumstances in your loved one’s life so they have the best possible chance at lasting recovery.
You are that circumstance, but they are the one that change helps above all.
This course is not about making you feel better; it is about saving your loved one’s life. That will always be my priority, and by taking this course, you are making it yours as well.
Q: This program is expensive!
A: Some feel $4,500 is expensive, some actually feel it is a deal compared to the financial loss already drained to the addiction. Either way, we can all agree addiction is co$tly! Addiction is also a chronic, life long illness that usually goes untreated. Addiction treatment facilities, the emergency room and health insurance should all be free- in our humble opinion. But they aren’t. Since this proven program works and those often don’t and we know we can’t change the entire industry overnight…. we decided to help the families who are ready for change now. We have documented data that shows an over 87% success rate. Eventually, and over time, we hope our data will inspire insurance companies and treatment facilities to do what works and we invite you to join us in this pursuit. However, in the meantime, we hope you agree that you and your loved one deserve to have the best chance for success. Families who enroll with us keep their loved ones in treatment longer. Please email our headquarters if you’d like to join the initiative of changing the conversation system wide at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: What if my loved one doesn’t want to get sober?
A: Addiction treatment is designed for those who don’t want it. So them wanting it, or not, doesn’t matter at this point. You want it, you want it for them. Helping you will help them want it!
Addiction controls the brain, making someone less inclined to want recovery until after they start to get it (it’s a total catch-22).
Addiction treatment is for those who don’t think they need it. That’s the nature of the illness, and this is why so many struggle: they are left to “want it” but the illness prevents them from seeing that on their own.
If you wait for your loved one to want it, you could end up waiting too long. Learning these tools is going to shift the energy around your addict through you so that their wanting will increase.
Q: Would this be a good program if my loved one is in treatment?
A: The timing of this course coinciding with when a loved one is in treatment is perfect, actually, and here is why. In treatment, your loved one is told they only need to change one thing: Everything. As their loved one, you are part of their everything. By taking part in a program like this, you are helping your loved one change their everything and are partnering with them on a recovery path. We suggest you let them know you are enrolled in this program, let them know you are learning about addiction and taking part in 12 step work. They’ll be very happy (if they want to be sober). They won’t be happy if they want to use/drink (but you will be so glad you did so you can better help).
This course will also give you the much needed skills and language to use to help your loved one stay in treatment longer than they may want to. You know that phone call you dread, when they say ‘”I’m ready to come home”? We’ll give you the exact tools to help your loved one stay in treatment and be able to help them maintain their recovery once they leave treatment. The first 30 days post treatment is the timeframe when someone in early recovery is most likely to relapse. By being in this program, you will learn what to say and do to be a completely different container for them and their recovery, giving them a 5X greater chance at lasting recovery.
Q: I don’t know if I’m the right one to help because I don’t live with my alcoholic.
A: This is really common. We often have people call us who are two or three degrees of separation away from the alcoholic, and you’re right, the person closest to the alcoholic is the one who has the most influence. And this program will absolutely still work for you, because our curriculum is designed to move through the barriers of denying, justifying, minimizing and accommodating behavior. The work that we do is all about engaging people who don’t want to be engaged. Most commonly that is the alcoholic themselves, who is resistant to looking at what they need to do to change, but very often the people closest to the addict are just as resistant and fearful of what to do. If you come into this program, our first focus will be to help you engage those closest to your addict, just like we help people engage the addict themselves. For example, we have a woman in our program who is the sister of an alcoholic. She doesn’t live anywhere near her sister who is married. Before joining this program, she wasn’t able to engage her sister’s husband to get his wife the help she needed. Through this course, we are helping her to do just that. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter who starts the conversation, it just needs to be started. If you’re here, chances are it’s you who’s being called to begin the recovery conversation.
