Filled with raw emotion and yet super inspiring. Miracles do happen

October 11, 2024

Last weekend was the first in-person event for my book, and it took me this long to be able to put into words how incredible it was.

Wow. Just wow.

We had a full room of those impacted by addiction on all sides of the recovery table—family members, treatment providers, and those in recovery themselves—not to mention more who tuned in via livestream.

After some light refreshments came the hour-long speaking program, followed by the opportunity for those in attendance to ask questions and share their own experiences.

It was truthful, raw, and authentic.

It was recovery in action.

It was evidence of a solution that works.

To say it was powerful is an understatement.

Here are what attendees shared as their greatest takeaways:

“Hearing the stories from members of Tipping Point Recovery. It was clear what a huge impact this work has on these families.”

“That we can’t control what happens. We can control how we react.”

“Hearing from people in recovery and how they used to not like Kate Duffy or the program, but ultimately, when they got sober, they were grateful for it. It was really important to have the person in recovery share how this program supported them.”

“Setting boundaries is one of the purest forms of love.”

“Hearing both family members and their recovering addicts speak from the same family gave the different perspectives that are so needed.”

“This was a great beginning to the future of what recovery can look like. Super inspiring.”

“There is a new breed of help for families that are living in or with addiction.”

The overall message attendees received was one of hope and knowing there is a solution; there is a way out.

And the number one thing people are encouraging me to do now is to keep going, keep speaking, keep conveying this message as far and wide as possible.

Someone gave the feedback, “Please do as many of these talks as possible around the country.”

So that’s why I’m writing this email.

On the heels of this powerful event, I have opened up 4 spots for in-person speaking engagements. If you are like the many people who have expressed wanting to help Tipping Point Recovery reach more families and have a connection to a recovery group, treatment center, or other community establishment that you feel could benefit from our message and mission, we would love to partner with you to set up an event.

>> Fill out this inquiry form or simply reply to this email to get the ball rolling.

Thank you to everyone for sharing the event as widely as you did. It was a great success as a result of your help.

Kate
