There’s this quiet grief that doesn’t always get acknowledged.
Not just grief over a loved one’s addiction…
…but grief for the life you thought you’d have.
…the relationship you wanted to save.
…the way the holidays used to feel.
When everything feels uncertain or chaotic, we sometimes put our grief on the shelf and say, “I’ll deal with that later.”
But grief is sacred. It deserves space.
It often shows up right beside our deepest growth.
In Foundations, we talk about how growth isn’t always loud or pretty, and it’s never linear.
Sometimes growth looks like…
- Choosing not to respond to that 2am text
- Walking away from the conversation instead of fixing it
- Saying “no” even when your voice shakes
- Letting yourself cry on Thanksgiving morning, and still choosing peace
This week, a few questions for your journal:
- What are you grieving right now (big or small)?
- Where do you see evidence of growth, even if it feels invisible to others?
- What would it look like to honor both?
There is room for both heartbreak and healing.
You’re not behind. You’re becoming.
